Creeper Trail Events

Highlands Spring Chase 15 K and Festival Chase 10 K
Enjoy the Va. Creeper Trail as you run along in one of our races the is held on the Trail. The Highlands Spring Chase is held in March in conjuction with the Creeper Trail Marathon. With the Spring chase being held on a Saturday and the Marathon on Sunday.

The Festival Chase is held on the middle Saturday of the well known Virginia Highlands Festival. After your 10 K run, stroll down Main Street and browse through many of the local crafters of take a ride out to the Antiques Market.

Jazz Festival

Wonderful event for those who enjoy jazz music. Musicians who play for the festival are known for there jazz music from those greats of the past to those of the future.

Easter Egg Hunt

This event is for youth ages 2-8. Areas are divided for indiviual ages so everyone has a chance to find eggs. Event is held the the Coomes Recreation Center.

Sleepy Hollow on Main Street

This event is fun for all. Held on Main Street many activities are provided for you to adults. Games and a DJ provide entertainment for youth and a live band plays for all those others joining in on the event. Food vendors are also available. This event is free to everyone.

Crafts Show

The Annual Christmas Craft Show will be held at the Coomes Recreation Center. The dates and times for the event will be Friday, November 21st from 9:00 am til 5:00 pm, Saturday, November 22nd from 9:00 am til 5:00 pm and Sunday, November 23rd from 12:00 pm til 5:00 pm. A concession stand is available during all show hours. The craft show presents a wide variety of high quality handmade crafts and items from both local crafters and crafters from surrounding states. The event is open to the public free of charge, but a donation of two cans goods is asked for admission.

Christmas Tree Lighting

The Annual Christmas Tree lighting held on the Barter Green is always a community favorite. The time for the event will be 7:00 pm til 8:00 pm. Come join in and help light the tree with Santa as we gather around the tree and sing Christmas carols and drink hot chocolate.

Breakfast with Santa

Enjoy your breakfast as Santa makes his apperance for all the youth involved. Event is for ages 0 to all those who still believe in Santa Claus. However only ages 0 through 9 years old can sit on Santa’s lap. Registration is limited to the first 100 youth, so register early. There is no charge for this event.
